Previously this blog was a place where I posted reviews and such on things I liked or found interesting. For a year or so this blog has been put on ice as my interest in reviewing and in reviews in general has fallen off the map – here be dragons. So I trimmed some of the chaff from this blog and only kept the stuff which might be on interest as it covers stuff which has no significant mainstream coverage, or stuff which has received attention from you the humble surfer, either via hits or comments or links. However I have started contributing to the mighty StarShipSofa podcast in the way of a 5-10 minute fact feature on something sf related: be it an author profile or an informal review on a novel. My interests are predominately on the fringes of mainstream sf these days, so I’ll mainly be focussing on the stuff that lurks in the outer-rim of the dying sf galaxy rather than the latest space opera. I have provided links to the episodes that I’m on and I will provide links and further details or any notes I made for the show on this blog for your convenience.
Anyway, as always, if you find anything of interest here then feel free to comment.
Simon
I read your review on Bloodspell and really appreciated the thoroughness of your post. I was curious if you’ve heard of Dementia Myndflame. We’ve produced some of the most successful Machinima in history using the World of Warcraft game engine. If you’ve been dissapointed with the cinematic limitations of this genre, I highly recommend you watch our video “Illegal Danish: Super Snacks”. Hi Clint,
Thanks for the comment. I have downloaded Illegal Danish (sounds like a porno to me – maybe it’s supposed to?)and will check it out soon.

Been having some download issues, but I’ve finally managed to DL a copy of ‘Illegal Danish.’ WoW certainly produces much more profesional, artistic and fluid results! ‘Illegal Danish’ is much more of a full-on comedy affair than ‘BloodSpell.’ I suppose I prefer the ethos and ambition of ‘BloodSpell,’ but there is no doubt that ‘Illegal Danish’ works much better. Not all of the gags were brilliant, but the ‘cock’ joke certainly made me chuckle! Worth checking out for that alone!
I might review it and the other eps sometime, but there are a few other things I want to get on with first.
Thanks

Thanks for the compliment Francois – I really enjoyed Black Ice. There are certainly several titles published by Bitter Lemon Press that interest me. However money is tight at the moment, so like almost everything else that I want to read – it’ll have to wait.
Of course, if you wish to supply me with a review copy or two, I’ll be happy to read and publish my opinions here.
